Democrats Demand Hegseth’s Firing While Ignoring Lloyd Austin’s AWOL Debacle

The left’s sudden obsession with accountability rings hollow after years of silence over deadly Biden-era failures.

Democrats are once again tying themselves in knots this time demanding the resignation of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over a minor Signal group messaging error, while continuing to ignore the massive failures of their own under the Biden administration. The hypocrisy isn’t just obvious it’s infuriating.

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings nailed it on Sunday’s State of the Union, slamming the performative outrage from the left after Hegseth accidentally added The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg to a group chat related to U.S. military strikes on Houthi terrorists.

Let’s be clear: no classified information was leaked, no operation compromised. Yet Democrats want heads to roll.

Jennings rightly asked: where was all this righteous indignation when 13 U.S. service members were killed during Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan?

Where was it when:

  • The Biden administration vaporized an innocent Afghan family in a drone strike that was supposed to stop a terrorist?

  • Then-Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin went AWOL, vanishing into a hospital without even informing the White House, leaving national security in the dark?

  • No one in the Biden administration was held accountable not one resignation, not one public reprimand.

But now, when Secretary Hegseth is overseeing a precise and aggressive campaign against Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists a campaign that the Biden team failed to launch when it mattered they suddenly rediscover the concept of "accountability"?

Jennings summed it up perfectly: “I just don’t have a lot of time for that argument.”

The truth is, Democrats only scream about consequences when it’s a Republican in charge. When it’s their side that bungles operations, costs lives, and lies to the public? Crickets.

The American people can see through this selective outrage. If a minor comms hiccup is grounds for resignation, then what should the penalty be for a full-blown military catastrophe? For leaving Americans behind in enemy territory? For hiding a defense secretary’s medical absence from the chain of command?

The left’s priorities aren’t about national security. They’re about political theater. And while they scramble to nitpick at Trump’s defense team, Hegseth is actually doing the job Biden’s crew failed to do taking the fight to the terrorists and protecting American interests.
