Democrats Defend Big Pharma While Attacking RFK Jr.

The Democrats just showed their hand in a major way. During Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Senate confirmation hearing for Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary, they did everything they could to protect their biggest donors Big Pharma. Instead of grilling Kennedy on how he’d serve the American people, they launched attack after attack over his past lawsuits against pharmaceutical giants and his skepticism of widely prescribed drugs.

This hearing wasn’t about qualifications. It was about silencing anyone who dares to question the multi-billion-dollar pharmaceutical industry that bankrolls Washington elites.

Consider what’s happening in California right now a product liability lawsuit against Merck over its HPV vaccine, Gardasil. Plaintiffs claim that Merck concealed serious side effects, including young women being left in wheelchairs. Merck, of course, denies the claims. But the very fact that a judge allowed this case to go to trial suggests that these concerns aren’t baseless.

• Merck has faced similar accusations before. In 2011, it paid nearly $1 billion in fines after being caught hiding safety data about its painkiller Vioxx.

• Pharmaceutical companies enjoy broad legal immunity for vaccines, making this lawsuit one of the few rare exceptions where they can actually be held accountable.

• RFK Jr. played a role in bringing this lawsuit forward, which is exactly why Democrats like Elizabeth Warren went on the attack.

Warren, who built her career claiming to fight corporate greed, suddenly sounded like Merck’s legal counsel. She pressured RFK Jr. to renounce any involvement in lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies even those he had already worked on before being nominated. So much for standing up for the little guy.

Kennedy wasn’t just attacked over vaccines. Democrats also went after him for raising concerns about SSRIs selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, the most commonly prescribed antidepressants. These drugs are handed out like candy, yet there are legitimate concerns about their link to mass shootings.

• Warning labels on SSRIs explicitly state that they can increase violent and suicidal thoughts.

• A Danish review of studies found that SSRIs double the risk of suicide and violence in healthy individuals who were never previously depressed.

• The idea that depression is caused by a "chemical imbalance" was debunked in a 2022 “Molecular Psychiatry” study, yet millions are still prescribed these drugs based on outdated science.

Kennedy simply pointed out that we don’t have enough transparency on whether mass shooters were taking SSRIs at the time of their crimes. Instead of debating the issue, Democrats smeared him as a conspiracy theorist.

This entire hearing made one thing clear: the Democratic Party will fight tooth and nail to protect Big Pharma from scrutiny.

• They ignored RFK Jr.’s concerns about Alzheimer’s drugs, some of which were fast-tracked and later exposed as fraudulent.

• They ridiculed his stance on Lyme disease origins, despite post-COVID revelations proving that government-funded labs do, in fact, experiment with dangerous pathogens.

• They even wasted time complaining about “anti-vaccine onesies” rather than addressing major healthcare crises.

When Bernie Sanders asked RFK Jr. if healthcare is a human right, Kennedy correctly responded that no one is entitled to someone else’s labor. Instead of engaging in a debate, Sanders resorted to his usual socialist tirade proving that his brand of "populism" is just another excuse for government overreach.

Democrats love to pretend they stand against corporate greed. But when it comes to the industry that profits off mass drugging, medical cover-ups, and child castration drugs, they turn into full-fledged defense attorneys. The pharmaceutical industry has poisoned millions, lied about its products, and crushed those who speak out.

RFK Jr. is far from perfect, but his confirmation to HHS would mean someone in Washington is willing to challenge the corrupt medical establishment. After watching the disgraceful show put on by Democrats in this hearing, it’s clear we need him in that position now more than ever.
