Top Democrat Melts Down Over David Hogg’s Insubordination

Infighting erupts as progressive firebrand undermines party leadership ahead of crucial elections.

The Democratic Party is once again eating its own and this time, it’s happening at the top. On a leaked DNC Zoom call, newly installed DNC Chair Ken Martin broke down emotionally, admitting that radical activist David Hogg had “destroyed” his ability to lead the party effectively.

The internal meltdown, which was captured during a May 15 meeting of DNC officers, exposes deepening cracks within the Democratic machine just as the 2026 midterm campaign cycle begins to heat up. Martin didn’t hold back as he aimed his frustration squarely at Hogg, whose rogue political agenda appears to be unraveling whatever cohesion the DNC has left.

“I don’t know if I wanna do this anymore,” Martin confessed, clearly at his breaking point. His complaint? That Hogg, under the guise of "fresh leadership," is using his group Leaders We Deserve to pump millions of dollars into primary challengers targeting moderate and older Democrats all while serving as Vice Chair of the DNC itself.

That’s right. While the DNC is supposed to focus on defeating Republicans, one of its top officials is actively targeting fellow Democrats. It’s a level of dysfunction that would be laughable if it weren’t so disastrous.

Martin spelled it out:

  • Hogg’s actions have sabotaged fundraising efforts and undercut Martin’s credibility just 100 days into his role.

  • The party is hemorrhaging unity, with ideological purists now at war with pragmatists.

  • Strategists are openly livid with veteran Democrat James Carville calling Hogg a “contemptible little twerp” and even floating the idea that donors could sue him for working against party interests.

This isn’t just a little squabble behind closed doors it’s a symptom of a party in total disarray. With Hogg’s hard-left campaign to purge the party of its less extreme elements, Democrats are devouring their own bench right before a major election cycle.

And while Martin insists he’s “not going anywhere,” the damage is clearly done. In his own words: “I took this job to fight Republicans, not Democrats.” Yet the real battle within the Democratic Party isn’t with conservatives it’s with the radical wing that’s now seizing control from the inside.

David Hogg, once a teenage activist, now seems to fancy himself a kingmaker. But instead of building a stronger movement, he's turning the DNC into a powder keg of internal rebellion.

The only winners here? Republicans. While Democrats burn from within, the GOP is gearing up to take back seats, drive real leadership, and undo the damage of the last four years. Americans are watching and many are ready to choose competence over chaos.
