Cruz Launches Ad Campaign for Justice for Jocelyn Act

The legislation seeks to close loopholes that allow criminals to evade detention and harm American families.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has unveiled a stirring new ad to promote the Justice for Jocelyn Act, a bill aimed at strengthening immigration enforcement and preventing tragedies like the death of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray. The legislation comes in response to Jocelyn’s brutal murder, allegedly committed by two illegal aliens, Johan Jose Rangel Martinez and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos.

“Last year, I began the fight for justice for 12-year-old Jocelyn,” Cruz stated in the ad. “The aliens responsible for her murder crossed the southern border illegally and should have been detained by ICE.”

The Justice for Jocelyn Act would require Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to prioritize the detention of illegal aliens. Specifically:

  • ICE must fill every available detention bed before enrolling illegal aliens in “alternative to detention” programs.

  • All individuals released under such programs would be subjected to GPS monitoring.

  • A curfew would be imposed on those released.

Cruz argued that current “reckless open-border policies” championed by Democrats allowed these criminals to roam freely, leaving detention center beds empty and ICE unable to act effectively.

Jocelyn’s mother, Alexis Nungaray, has become a symbol of resilience and courage in the fight for stronger immigration laws. Cruz emphasized his commitment to standing alongside families like Alexis’s, who have suffered devastating losses due to weak border enforcement.

“Democrats’ reckless policies prevented ICE and Border Patrol agents from acting, leaving our communities vulnerable,” Cruz said. “Congress should act with urgency to ensure no other American family ever has to endure what Jocelyn’s family has faced.”

The Justice for Jocelyn Act is not just about securing the border; it’s about preventing further loss of innocent lives. Cruz urged Congress to act swiftly in passing this legislation, ensuring that ICE and Border Patrol have the tools and authority necessary to protect American communities.

Cruz vowed to continue fighting for justice and safety, stating, “Standing alongside Alexis in this fight for justice has been an immense privilege, and I will not stop fighting until our communities are safe and justice is served.”
