Congress Certifies Trump’s 2024 Victory as Kamala Harris Presides

It’s official Donald J. Trump has been certified as the 47th President of the United States, securing 312 Electoral College votes and a clear mandate for his second term. Presiding over the proceedings was Vice President Kamala Harris, who was forced to announce her own defeat.

Trump celebrated the moment on Truth Social, posting:

“CONGRESS CERTIFIES OUR GREAT ELECTION VICTORY TODAY A BIG MOMENT IN HISTORY. MAGA!”

Unlike 2020, where chaos and Democrat objections clouded the certification process, this time, not a single lawmaker contested the results. The streamlined proceedings took less than an hour, with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) affirming that Republicans were ready to “get to work” and implement Trump’s agenda immediately.

Senate President Harris who just months ago suffered a crushing electoral defeat had no choice but to read aloud the results confirming Trump’s victory:

“This announcement of the state of the vote by the President of the Senate shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of the persons elected president and vice president.”

With Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) becoming vice president, Ohio’s Republican Governor Mike DeWine will appoint a temporary successor to Vance’s Senate seat until a special election in 2026.

With Republicans controlling both chambers of Congress, the stage is set for an aggressive legislative agenda. The House and Senate are expected to fast-track Trump’s policies, focusing on:

• Border security and mass deportations

• Dismantling Biden-era economic policies

• Rebuilding energy independence

• Criminal justice reform aimed at restoring law and order

The Democratic Party’s four years of failed leadership have been thoroughly rejected by the American people. Trump’s second term officially begins on January 20, and with a Republican-controlled Congress, the America First movement is stronger than ever.
