Colorado Removes Distorted Trump Portrait After President Calls It Out
Trump slams Democrat governor for displaying offensive painting, demands accurate representation in state Capitol.

President Donald Trump scored another victory over leftist pettiness this week after Colorado agreed to remove an intentionally distorted portrait of him from its state Capitol. The decision comes after Trump publicly blasted the grotesque artwork, calling it a political jab disguised as a presidential portrait.
The painting, hung in 2019, was supposed to honor Trump as part of the presidential gallery at the Colorado State Capitol. But the final result looked more like a caricature than a tribute prompting outrage not just from Trump himself, but from many Coloradans who saw it for what it really was: a cheap political insult, proudly displayed by a Democrat-controlled state government.
“Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves,” Trump said in a post Sunday night, “but the one in Colorado… was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before.”
He added that the artist, who also painted President Obama, made him look “wonderful” while turning Trump into a mockery. “She must have lost her talent as she got older,” he quipped.
But the core of this story isn’t just about bad art it’s about Democrats’ endless obsession with disrespecting Trump, even in places meant to be apolitical and representative of history. Instead of honoring the presidency, Colorado Democrats used the Capitol walls to take cheap shots.
In true Trump fashion, he also took the opportunity to call out radical leftist Governor Jared Polis, slamming him for being weak on crime particularly with respect to Venezuelan-linked gang Tren de Aragua, which has been terrorizing parts of Colorado like Aurora.
“In fact, they are actually angry about it!” Trump said of the local outrage over the portrait. “I am speaking on their behalf to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis… Jared should be ashamed of himself!”
The Democrats’ weak response? “If the GOP wants to spend time and money on which portrait of Trump hangs in the Capitol, then that’s up to them.” In other words, they were forced to backpedal but couldn’t resist another smug jab.
Let’s be clear no other president in modern history has faced this level of coordinated disrespect from public institutions. And yet, Trump continues to win. He spoke, the people rallied, and the state backed down.
