Former Coast Guard Officer Arrested For Plotting To Assassinate Trump
FBI arrests Antifa-linked ex-military officer after graphic online threats against President Trump.

A disturbing plot against President Donald Trump has been foiled as federal authorities arrested a former U.S. Coast Guard officer accused of making violent assassination threats online. According to court documents obtained by Fox News, 55-year-old Peter Stinson of Virginia now faces federal charges for threatening to kill Trump in a chilling escalation of left-wing political violence.
Stinson, who served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1988 to 2021 and worked as both a sharpshooter and FEMA instructor, allegedly made multiple graphic threats across various social media platforms. An FBI task force officer detailed the alarming threats in a sworn affidavit filed on Friday.
Among the threats, Stinson allegedly wrote on May 9 that Trump needed to be “[L]uigied” a reference to Luigi Mangione, who was accused of murdering United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson last year. In other posts, Stinson openly fantasized about using guns, poison, and knives to carry out the assassination.
The affidavit reveals even more chilling details, noting that Stinson acknowledged his own limited assassination skills while ominously suggesting he might not be telling the full truth. "Not having the necessary skills," he posted, but left open the disturbing possibility that he could still pose a threat.
Federal authorities also uncovered numerous references to the number 8647, which officials say likely alludes to an Instagram post by former FBI Director James Comey. The post was previously interpreted by some media outlets as a veiled threat against Trump, prompting investigations by both the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service.
Beyond the threats, Stinson reportedly self-identified as a member of Antifa, the far-left extremist group known for political violence, riots, and attacks on conservative Americans. On February 2, Stinson posted on his X account "Sure. This is war. Sides will be drawn. Antifa always wins in the end. Violence is inherently necessary."
Just last week, on June 11, Stinson allegedly posted another ominous message on BlueSky “When he dies, the party is going to be yuge.”
Stinson has been formally charged with making threats to kill the president and is scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court on Wednesday.
Key facts from this shocking arrest:
Stinson served over 30 years in the U.S. Coast Guard as an officer, sharpshooter, and FEMA instructor.
He allegedly made multiple graphic threats against Trump using guns, poison, and knives.
Stinson self-identified as a member of Antifa and openly advocated for political violence.
He faces federal charges for threatening the life of a former president and current presidential candidate.
This arrest underscores the growing danger of far-left extremism and its escalating hostility toward conservatives, particularly against President Trump. While corporate media remains fixated on false narratives about “right-wing violence,” incidents like this are stark reminders of where the real political threats are emerging.
As the 2024 election approaches and President Trump continues his historic campaign, these disturbing acts of violence and rhetoric are becoming increasingly common from an unhinged radical left desperate to stop him at any cost.
