CNN Panel Melts Down After Liberal Guest Compares Israel to Russia

Leftist pundit calls Gaza a "genocide," refuses to condemn Hamas, and gets torched by conservative guest.

A CNN panel discussion erupted into chaos this week when a far-left commentator outrageously claimed that Israel’s military response to Hamas was morally equivalent to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a comparison that drew instant backlash and exposed the deep rot in today’s progressive media narratives.

The segment, aired on CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip, featured Emma Vigeland, host of The Majority Report, who accused the U.S. of losing “moral standing” globally because of its support for Israel. Vigeland shamelessly described Israel’s war in Gaza as a “genocide,” ignoring the October 7th massacre, where Hamas terrorists murdered over 1,200 innocent civilians in the most brutal attack on Jews since the Holocaust.

“The Biden administration is immensely complicit in this… which has made it very difficult for us to speak to Ukrainian sovereignty,” Vigeland said, before comparing Israel’s response to Hamas to Russia’s unprovoked assault on Ukraine.

Conservative commentator Scott Jennings was visibly stunned and rightfully so. He tried to call out the absurdity of Vigeland’s comments, but host Abby Phillip attempted to shut him down, claiming they were out of time.

“Oh, we don’t have time for the anti-Israel propaganda?” Jennings snapped back. “October the 7th was fine? Yeah, unbelievable.”

He didn’t stop there. “Not a single word in your speech for the atrocities that were committed on October the 7th,” he continued. “Not a single word for the idea that Israel has every right to defend itself… Not a single word for the fact that Hamas is killing its own people inside Gaza.”

Vigeland, meanwhile, smirked and laughed while Jennings exposed her selective outrage and total silence on Hamas’s crimes. Instead of backing down, she called for the U.S. to “cut off arms” to Israel immediately, parroting the fringe demands of the far-left squad and pro-Hamas sympathizers.

To justify her stance, she cited B’Tselem, a radical NGO known for its anti-Israel agenda and deep ties to international activists hostile to the Jewish state. Of course, no mention was made of Hamas using civilians as human shields, stealing aid, or executing dissidents inside Gaza.

This isn’t just another example of CNN’s bias it’s proof of how deeply embedded anti-Israel sentiment has become in mainstream liberal thought. The moral clarity that once united Americans around the defense of democracy is now being replaced by dangerous moral relativism, where terrorist regimes get a pass and allies like Israel get thrown under the bus.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has remained largely silent on the growing anti-Israel rhetoric taking root in his party. His administration continues to waver, fearful of alienating the radical base ahead of 2024 even if that means abandoning one of America’s closest allies.

Credit to Jennings for calling it like it is. Too bad CNN tried to silence him.
