China Threatens War With U.S. After Trump Doubles Tariffs

Communist regime lashes out as Trump cracks down on trade and fentanyl crisis.

China is escalating its rhetoric against the United States after President Donald Trump doubled tariffs on Chinese imports, warning that it is “ready” for “any … type of war” and will “fight till the end.”

The aggressive statement came from Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, who downplayed China’s role in the fentanyl crisis and dismissed Trump’s demand that Beijing do more to stop the deadly drug from flowing into the U.S.

“If the U.S. has other agenda in mind and if war is what the U.S. wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we’re ready to fight till the end,” Lin said.

Trump’s latest move to hold China accountable included:

  • Doubling tariffs on Chinese imports from 10% to 20% to counter unfair trade practices.

  • 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports to pressure them into stronger border enforcement.

  • Tying tariffs to the fentanyl crisis, demanding that China crack down on the production and trafficking of the deadly opioid.

In response, China immediately slapped tariffs on American food imports and cut off sales to 15 U.S. companies. Beijing is once again attempting to intimidate the U.S. into submission but this time, they’re dealing with a president who refuses to back down.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made it clear that while the U.S. seeks peace, it will not be caught unprepared.

“Those who long for peace must prepare for war,” Hegseth told Fox & Friends. “That’s why we’re rebuilding our military. That’s why we’re re-establishing deterrence in the warrior ethos. We live in a dangerous world with powerful, ascendant countries with very different ideology.”

During his address to Congress, Trump emphasized that America is done playing the role of a global doormat.

“Other countries have used tariffs against us for decades,” he said. “And now it’s our turn to start using them against those other countries.”

For too long, China has taken advantage of America’s weak leadership. Under Biden, China continued to flood the U.S. with fentanyl, manipulate trade deals, and undermine American businesses. Now, under Trump, China is finally facing real consequences and they don’t like it.

The question now is whether China is truly prepared to follow through on its threats. One thing is certain: Trump isn’t backing down.
