Chicago Mayor Declares Police ‘Will Not Ever Cooperate with ICE’

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has made it official his city’s police “will not ever cooperate with ICE,” even as federal agents ramp up efforts to detain and deport criminal illegal aliens in sanctuary cities across the country.

“We are a welcoming city,” Johnson declared Tuesday during a press conference, confirming that local law enforcement will not assist federal immigration authorities under any circumstances.

Asked whether Chicago police would go so far as to block ICE agents from entering schools without warrants, Johnson doubled down:

“Our local police department will not ever cooperate with ICE, whatever their constitutional authority is.”

Let that sink in. One of America’s largest cities has just vowed to actively obstruct federal law enforcement.

This isn’t the first time Johnson has attacked U.S. immigration enforcement. Last month, the far-left mayor accused ICE of “terrorism” and called on citizens to “rise up” against it. He has refused to enforce immigration law while welcoming over 51,000 illegal aliens into the city since 2022 burdening schools, hospitals, housing, and taxpayers.

Meanwhile, ICE agents are under siege.

• Assaults against ICE have skyrocketed 500%, according to Trump’s former border czar Tom Homan.

• A new app called ICEBlock is now being used to track federal agents—putting their lives in danger.

• Agents are being targeted with Molotov cocktails and bricks, like the recent ambush in Los Angeles.

“This is just disgusting at every level,” Homan said. “It’s only a matter of time before ICE agents are ambushed again by some nut.”

President Trump isn’t standing down.

“President Trump is committed to carrying out the largest mass deportation operation in history by specifically targeting dangerous sanctuary cities that provide safe harbor to criminal illegals,” said White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson.
“Democrat politicians are desperate to defend violent criminal illegal aliens over American citizens. It’s wrong.”

What Mayor Johnson and his allies are doing isn’t compassion it’s deliberate sabotage of American sovereignty and public safety. Under their policies, violent illegals roam free, while law enforcement is handcuffed by political agendas.

The American people already sent a message in November when they returned Trump to the White House. And now, under Trump’s leadership, sanctuary cities like Chicago are on notice.
