Chicago Mayor Melts Down Over Trump’s Plan to Deploy Troops Against Violent Crime

Brandon Johnson calls Trump “unstable” after National Guard targets Venezuelan gang members in South Shore.

In a bizarre outburst on CNN Tuesday, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson lashed out at President Donald Trump, calling him an “unstable human being” for daring to send military forces and federal agents into violent American cities to restore order including his own.

The mayor’s comments came after a federal operation involving nearly 300 agents was conducted in Chicago’s crime-ridden South Shore neighborhood to apprehend members of the Venezuelan criminal gang, Tren de Aragua one of the most violent international gangs currently operating in the U.S.

But instead of thanking law enforcement for removing dangerous foreign criminals from his streets, Johnson turned the interview into an anti-Trump tirade.

“This president is an unstable human being, and it's right for this moment to check him,” Johnson ranted on CNN. “And we're calling on Congress to do its job.”

Apparently, cleaning up crime is now a threat to “democracy” in Johnson’s upside-down worldview.

Meanwhile, agents were seen on video lowering snipers onto rooftops and arresting over two dozen suspects tied to organized gang activity activity that has flourished under Johnson’s failed leadership and the city’s status as a sanctuary haven for illegal immigrants.

Let’s break down what really happened:

  • 300 federal agents conducted a targeted operation in a high-crime area of Chicago

  • The goal? Apprehend six identified members of Tren de Aragua, a violent Venezuelan gang involved in drug trafficking, extortion, and human smuggling

  • Two dozen individuals were taken into custody, according to Fox News

  • The move comes just one day after Democrat Governor JB Pritzker himself requested 100 military troops to be deployed in Illinois for immigration enforcement

So while Gov. Pritzker quietly asks DHS for military help, Mayor Johnson publicly condemns Trump for doing the same thing only more effectively.

“There's no way that anyone in this country should be okay with armed militarized troops being sent to cities,” Johnson said, ignoring the fact that cities like his are already overrun with armed criminals and cartel-linked gang members.

This is what leadership looks like under President Trump decisive action, unapologetic enforcement, and protecting American citizens from foreign and domestic threats.

And this is what failure looks like under left-wing mayors like Brandon Johnson:

  • Skyrocketing violent crime

  • Sanctuary city chaos

  • Politicized police departments

  • And now? Public meltdowns when the federal government steps in to do the job they refuse to do

Chicago is now a city where gangs thrive, police are handcuffed, and criminals walk free, while the mayor blames Trump for trying to restore order.

“This is not only appalling,” Johnson said of the military presence, “but this is... an egregious attempt to undermine the sanctity of our democracy.”

Trump is undermining the Democrats’ ability to protect criminals and blame conservatives for the consequences.

This isn’t about “militarization.” It’s about cleaning up Democrat-run disaster zones where American families are paying the price for open borders, soft-on-crime policies, and woke ideology.

Trump isn’t sending in the troops to wage war he’s sending them to stop one.

And if Brandon Johnson doesn’t like that, maybe he should spend less time whining on CNN and more time making Chicago safe again.
