Trump DOJ Investigating Charlotte Murder of Ukrainian Refugee by Repeat Offender

The Department of Justice under President Trump is now examining the shocking murder of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, who was brutally stabbed to death in Charlotte, North Carolina, by a career criminal who had no business being on the streets.

The suspect, Decarlos Brown Jr., a black male with a long criminal history, allegedly stabbed Zarutska a white woman multiple times in the neck in what appears to be a completely unprovoked attack as she was walking home from her job at a local pizzeria. Zarutska had fled Ukraine seeking safety and opportunity. Instead, she found lawlessness and tragedy in a Democrat-run city.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon confirmed Monday that the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division is investigating the crime for potential racial motivation, as well as possible media coordination to suppress the full story.

“We’re certainly looking at this fact pattern,” Dhillon said during an interview. “Why are we not seeing this disturbing incident and footage on all the news shows at night when we saw the same with respect to George Floyd?”

That question is burning in the minds of millions of Americans. Why is this horrific killing a white woman slaughtered by a black man with a criminal record not dominating headlines the way other tragedies have in the past? Why has the mainstream media all but ignored it?

What’s even more disturbing is that Charlotte’s Democrat Mayor Vi Lyles praised media outlets for not airing the graphic footage of the attack. She explicitly thanked “media partners” for withholding the video, which has led to accusations of media suppression, bias, and possibly illegal coordination.

“That might be an antitrust issue,” Dhillon said. “Whether this is an instance in which mainstream media partners of these left-wing cities are coordinating to suppress significant crime… that’s a serious question.”

This isn’t just about one tragic case it’s about the broader rot in Democrat cities:

• Repeat offenders are roaming free, thanks to weak bail policies and soft-on-crime prosecutors.

• Media elites are selectively reporting violent crimes, depending on the race of the victim and suspect.

• Democrat leaders like Mayor Lyles are more concerned about optics than delivering justice or keeping their citizens safe.

Brown reportedly has a lengthy rap sheet, raising questions about why he was free in the first place. The answer is simple: progressive policies have turned once-thriving cities into lawless war zones, where criminals are protected and victims are forgotten.

President Trump has made it clear this will not stand.

His DOJ is digging deeper not just into this case, but into the entire system that elevates criminals, suppresses truth, and punishes victims for existing in the wrong political narrative. If this had been the reverse if a white man had murdered a black refugee the media would be running 24/7 coverage, the DOJ would’ve already filed federal hate crime charges, and protests would be lighting up city centers.

But because it doesn’t fit the preferred script, silence.

It’s time to expose the double standards. Time to restore law and order. And time to bring justice for Iryna Zarutska not just in Charlotte, but in every American city abandoned by the left.
