Suspected Charlie Kirk Assassin Arrested and Identified
Utah officials confirm 22-year-old Tyler Robinson was arrested after evidence and family testimony tied him to the killing.

The manhunt for Charlie Kirk’s killer has ended. Utah officials and the FBI announced Friday morning that 22-year-old Tyler Robinson was arrested Thursday night in connection with the assassination of the conservative commentator at Utah Valley University.
Governor Spencer Cox revealed that Robinson was identified after a family member reported his disturbing comments and possible confession. Robinson allegedly admitted or implied to relatives that he had assassinated Kirk, expressing hatred for the Turning Point USA co-founder’s beliefs.
“He talked about why he didn’t like Charlie Kirk and the viewpoints he had,” Governor Cox explained. “The family member stated Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate.”
Investigators presented a growing body of evidence tying Robinson to the murder:
Campus video footage showed Robinson arriving in a gray Dodge Challenger, a car family members confirmed he owned.
A roommate allowed authorities to review Robinson’s Discord messages, where he allegedly discussed retrieving a rifle from a “drop point,” stashing it in a bush, and changing outfits after the shooting.
Police later recovered a bolt-action rifle with a scope hidden in the woods near the crime scene, consistent with his online messages.
The rifle’s ammunition carried bizarre, personalized engravings, including pop culture references, antifascist slogans, and crude taunts.
Authorities confirmed that Robinson was not a Utah Valley University student and lived with his family in Washington County, Utah.
FBI Director Kash Patel credited the arrest to both law enforcement and citizen involvement. “This case would not have been solved without the public’s vigilance and prayers,” he said. Nearly 7,000 tips poured in during the search, making it the most extensive manhunt since the Boston Marathon bombing.
Charging documents are expected next week. Utah is one of the few states that still imposes the death penalty, and both Governor Cox and President Donald Trump have already called for Robinson to face capital punishment if convicted.
The nation continues to grieve the murder of Charlie Kirk a husband, father, and fearless conservative voice while awaiting justice for the man accused of taking his life.
