CBS Caught Misleading Viewers With Fake USAID ‘Victims’
The so-called fired employees were actually short-term consultants, not government workers.

The mainstream media’s obsession with smearing President Donald Trump has once again led to outright deception. During Sunday night’s episode of 60 Minutes, CBS aired a dramatic segment featuring two supposed victims of Trump’s budget cuts at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The problem? They weren’t even USAID employees.
CBS presented Kristina Drye and Adam Dubard as USAID employees who were unjustly fired by the Trump administration. The network’s goal was obvious paint a picture of heartless Republican policies that leave hard-working Americans jobless.
Neither Drye nor Dubard were actual USAID employees they were consultants working for an outside firm, XLA, which provided services to the agency.
Dubard worked in this role for less than a year, and Drye was there for about 2.5 years hardly the career government servants CBS portrayed them as.
Their own LinkedIn profiles confirm they were contracted consultants, not federal workers affected by Trump’s cuts.
This isn’t the first time the media has pulled this stunt. As radio host Erick Erickson pointed out, the press always changes its narrative depending on who’s in power:
When Democrats are in charge, the media focuses on beneficiaries of their policies.
When Republicans are in charge, the media highlights so-called victims of conservative reforms.
Where was CBS when thousands of workers lost their jobs after Joe Biden shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline on Day One of his presidency? Nowhere. But when Trump dares to cut bloated, wasteful spending, the media scrambles to find sympathetic faces even if it means misleading the public.
Let’s be clear: the Trump administration is doing exactly what it should cutting programs that waste American tax dollars and eliminating policies that do not align with its vision. This is what presidents are elected to do. Unlike Democrats, who throw endless taxpayer dollars at ineffective foreign aid projects, Trump is prioritizing policies that benefit American workers and families first.
The media will continue its attacks, but the American people see through the lies. CBS and 60 Minutes got caught once again fabricating a narrative to fit their agenda.
