CBS Accused of Whitewashing MS-13 Member’s Crimes in Noem Interview

Kristi Noem blasts CBS for cutting child abuse, gang violence allegations from segment on illegal immigrant deportation case.

CBS News is under fire after Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accused the network of intentionally editing out disturbing facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia an illegal immigrant, alleged MS-13 gang member, and accused child predator.

In an interview that aired Sunday on Face The Nation, Noem defended the Trump administration’s efforts to deport Abrego Garcia and warned of the threat he poses to American communities. But when the interview went live, viewers didn’t get the full story. Instead, CBS aired only a short portion of Noem’s remarks conveniently leaving out the most damning details of Abrego Garcia’s criminal record.

> “CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety,” Noem wrote on X.

And the missing details were no minor footnote.

In the full, unaired portion of the interview which Noem later posted to social media she described Abrego Garcia as:

  • A known human smuggler

  • A documented MS-13 gang member

  • A domestic abuser who beat his wife

  • A child predator who solicited nude photos from minors

“Even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off he was so sick in what he was doing and how he was treating small children,” Noem added.

None of this made it into the CBS broadcast.

Instead, the network aired only a brief clip of Noem saying, “The one thing that we will continue to do is to make sure that he doesn’t walk free in the United States of America.”

That’s not journalism that’s narrative management.

Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who entered the U.S. illegally, is now fighting deportation not to El Salvador, where he’s from but to Uganda, of all places. His case is being held up by Obama-appointed Judge Paula Xinis, who ordered a delay while she reviews his lawsuit challenging the deportation.

Let that sink in: An illegal MS-13 gang member, accused of child exploitation and human trafficking, is not only avoiding immediate deportation but is being protected by an activist federal judge while legacy media scrubs his crimes from public view.

This is what happens when the left controls the narrative. The media censors facts that don't fit the script. The courts tie the hands of immigration enforcement. And dangerous criminals remain in our country, shielded by broken systems and political gamesmanship.

President Trump and Secretary Noem are working to change that but they’re doing it against a backdrop of resistance from not just radical judges, but mainstream media outlets actively rewriting reality.

CBS had a chance to inform the public. Instead, it chose to protect a predator from public scrutiny.
