California Pot Farm Raid Leads to Nearly 400 Arrests, Says DHS

One of the largest immigration enforcement actions under President Donald Trump’s administration unfolded last week in Ventura County, California, where federal agents arrested 361 illegal aliens and rescued 14 children, many of whom were likely victims of forced child labor, exploitation, or human trafficking.

According to Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at DHS, the marijuana farm in Camarillo was hiding far more than just illegal crops. “These are people that should not be in our communities illegally, much less around innocent children,” she said on Sunday, revealing that many of those arrested had violent criminal records including kidnapping, rape, child molestation, and hit-and-runs.

And yet, rather than condemning this grotesque exploitation, California Democrats chose to attack the agents trying to stop it.

During the raid, federal officers were assaulted by radical leftist protesters, with rocks thrown at vehicles and one individual even firing a handgun at agents. The FBI is now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman.

Despite the shocking nature of the crimes uncovered including 10 unaccompanied migrant children, one just 14 years old California Governor Gavin Newsom and Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-CA) criticized the operation. Newsom went so far as to accuse CBP of “tear-gassing kids,” while Carbajal called the raid “disproportionate” and “overkill.”

Let’s be clear: this wasn’t a political stunt it was a rescue mission. The farm in question wasn’t just illegal it was likely a front for human trafficking, and leftist mobs tried to shut down the rescue.

President Trump responded forcefully, authorizing ICE to defend themselves and the law:

“I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, and Border Czar, Tom Homan, to instruct all ICE, Homeland Security, or any other Law Enforcement Officer who is on the receiving end of thrown rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault, to stop their car, and arrest these SLIMEBALLS, using whatever means is necessary to do so.”

This comes as violence against federal immigration officers increases, fueled by the dangerous rhetoric of Democrat politicians who compare ICE to Nazis and treat illegal aliens like heroes even when they’re involved in trafficking, drug operations, or child exploitation.

Instead of thanking federal agents for risking their lives to save children from modern-day slavery, Democrats side with criminals and rioters.

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott posed a question that should echo across every blue-state legislature:

“California, are you ready to partner with us to stop child exploitation?”

Apparently not.
