USDA Joins Investigation Into California Schools Hiding Gender Transitions
Trump administration cracks down on radical state law keeping parents in the dark about their own children.

The Trump administration is turning up the heat on California, launching a multi-agency investigation into the state’s disturbing practice of hiding children’s gender transitions from their own parents. In a move announced Thursday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now supporting the Department of Education’s formal probe into whether California has violated federal law and constitutional rights.
USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins informed Governor Gavin Newsom directly, stating the investigation is being conducted at the direction of President Donald J. Trump. The letter outlines concerns about California’s new state law that bars school officials from informing parents about a child’s gender identity or transition even when school personnel are actively involved in that transition process.
“This is to inform you that, at the direction of President Donald J. Trump, the United States Department of Agriculture is undertaking a review of its research and other education-related funding in California for compliance with the Constitution, federal laws including Titles VI and IX, and the priorities of the Trump Administration,” Rollins wrote.
This is about more than just paperwork it's about protecting children and restoring the rights of parents to raise them without government interference. Rollins emphasized that USDA will not stand by while “students fall victim to a radical transgender ideology that often leads to family alienation and irreversible medical interventions.”
The federal government’s core concerns include:
Violations of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which guarantees parents access to their children’s education records.
School counselors and teachers allegedly helping minors socially transition without parental knowledge.
A California law that may actively encourage school districts to hide sensitive psychological and medical issues from families.
Secretary of Education Linda McMahon didn’t mince words. “Teachers and school counselors should not be in the business of advising minors entrusted to their care on consequential decisions about their sexual identity and mental health,” she said. “That responsibility and privilege lies with a parent or trusted loved one.”
The Education Department now believes that numerous local educational agencies throughout California are involved in these practices suggesting a systematic, state-level effort to push radical gender theory in schools and isolate children from their families.
Let’s be clear: this is not education. This is indoctrination. And it’s happening without parental consent.
According to the CDC, nearly 1 in 5 high school students in the U.S. has seriously considered suicide, a statistic that grows even more alarming when paired with the rise in gender confusion and medical transitions among minors. Shielding parents from their own child’s mental health struggles only makes matters worse.
The Trump administration’s response has been swift and unequivocal: no more secrecy, no more ideology over family, and no more radical social experiments with taxpayer funding.
This investigation is a critical first step in rolling back policies that treat parents as obstacles, rather than guardians of their own children’s wellbeing.
