Ousted Rep. Defends Biden’s Pardon Lies While Dodging His Own Scandals

Outgoing Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), who gained infamy for pulling a fire alarm to delay a vote and then lying about it, made waves Monday on CNN by defending President Joe Biden’s blatant dishonesty over Hunter Biden’s pardon. Bowman, who lost his 2024 Democratic primary, insisted Biden’s repeated claims that he would not pardon his son were not lies but merely “a change in context.”

Biden’s sweeping pardon for Hunter covers all federal crimes he may have committed over an 11-year period. NBC News reported that the pardon had been planned for months, despite Biden publicly denying any intention to pardon his son. Bowman, however, attempted to justify the obvious contradiction during a CNN panel discussion.

Bowman’s Defense:

• Shifting Context Argument: Bowman claimed that Biden’s pardon decision wasn’t dishonest but instead a reflection of “new context,” referring to President-elect Donald Trump’s resounding victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

• Buzzword Bingo: Instead of addressing the core issue of Biden’s lie, Bowman deflected with familiar Democrat rhetoric, citing Trump’s “multiple indictments” and calling him an “insurrectionist” intent on destroying the FBI.

• Panel Pushback: Even other panelists pointed out that Biden’s dishonesty about the pardon had no bearing on Trump’s re-election, with former Rep. Scott Taylor (R-VA) noting that Biden’s Justice Department prosecutor had explicitly denied political motivations in Hunter Biden’s case.

Hunter Biden’s Pardon:

According to NBC News, Biden’s aides had been discussing the possibility of a pardon since Hunter’s conviction in June. Despite the premeditation, Biden publicly denied any intent to pardon his son. This deceit, as NBC reported, was part of a conscious strategy by Biden and his media allies to mislead the public.

Bowman’s Hypocrisy:

Bowman’s attempt to justify Biden’s dishonesty underscores the left’s double standards. Known for lying about pulling a fire alarm to delay a House vote, Bowman has a shaky foundation when it comes to truth and accountability. His appearance on CNN seemed less about defending Biden and more about grasping for relevance after his ousting.
