Bondi Praises Trump’s Role in Venezuelan Dictator Maduro Capture
Attorney General defends bold military raid, blasts Democrats for protecting narco-terrorists over American lives.

Attorney General Pam Bondi is defending President Donald Trump’s daring military operation that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, calling it a mission that “saved countless lives” and a model for how America should confront global narco-terrorism.
In her first interview since the successful raid, Bondi appeared on Hannity Monday night to set the record straight. This wasn’t just about drugs, she explained. It was about dismantling a violent, state-run criminal enterprise that has trafficked weapons, cocaine, and death across the globe and into our own backyard.
“These aren’t street-level drug dealers,” Bondi said. “They are narco-traffickers. They are responsible for the loss of so many lives.”
Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were flown to New York following their dramatic capture during Operation Absolute Resolve, a Trump-led military and law enforcement operation that has triggered outrage from the Left but widespread praise from Americans concerned about border security, crime, and national sovereignty.
The pair has pleaded not guilty to narco-terrorism and other charges, including accusations that Maduro provided diplomatic passports to drug traffickers and allowed cartel operatives to use Venezuela’s government as a front for international money laundering.
A defiant Maduro reportedly declared himself a “prisoner of war” in court and compared himself to Jesus. But Bondi wasn’t having it. “Nothing is off the table,” she said. “These people must remain behind bars.”
Bondi also warned about the broader threat Maduro posed beyond Venezuela namely, the violent South American gang Tren de Aragua (TDA) that has infiltrated U.S. cities under Biden’s broken border policies.
“The president saved thousands, countless lives tonight,” Bondi said. “But he also protected Americans from the TDA members who Maduro let into our country, forced into our country.”
She referenced American victims of Venezuelan gang violence, including:
Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student brutally murdered by an illegal alien with gang ties.
Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl whose life was taken in yet another tragic and avoidable crime linked to illegal immigration.
This is what leadership looks like decisive, bold, unapologetic. Trump didn’t ask the UN for permission. He didn’t wait on a globalist committee. He identified a threat, acted swiftly, and brought a narco-dictator to justice.
Of course, Democrats rushed to defend Maduro, accusing Trump of violating international norms and likening the operation to Bush-era military actions in Iraq. It’s a tired playbook: stand up for tyrants, blame America, and pretend global criminals have “sovereignty.”
But Bondi made it clear the operation was fully legal, entirely justified, and strategically executed. “Our military pulled off a flawless, flawless execution,” she said. “It is going to stop. We are taking our country back.”
Maduro is due back in court on March 17, but the bigger story is what comes next. Trump has said the U.S. will temporarily manage Venezuela’s transition until a stable, democratic alternative can be secured. Meanwhile, the American people can rest a little easier knowing that the man who turned a nation into a cartel hub is now in U.S. custody.
This is the America First doctrine in action and it’s working.
