Blackburn Demands Prosecution After FBI Spied on Republican Senators

Biden’s DOJ secretly tracked GOP lawmakers in 2020 election probe, sparking calls to disbar Jack Smith.

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is sounding the alarm after explosive revelations that Joe Biden’s FBI quietly spied on multiple Republican lawmakers during an election-related probe. Blackburn is calling for former Special Counsel Jack Smith to be disbarred and potentially prosecuted after his office oversaw a secret operation that obtained phone records and location data of sitting U.S. senators.

The operation, known as “Arctic Frost,” was launched under the FBI’s Washington Field Office in 2022 and later handed over to Smith’s team. The probe focused on Republican lawmakers questioning the legitimacy of the 2020 election. According to a bombshell disclosure this week, the FBI subpoenaed tolling data for eight GOP senators and one House Republican, effectively placing them under surveillance.

“We’re already doing a letter of complaint to the D.C. bar about Jack Smith,” Blackburn said. “He should be disbarred at the very least and should face the full extent of accountability under the law.”

Among those targeted were prominent GOP voices:

  • Sen. Josh Hawley (MO)

  • Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC)

  • Sen. Ron Johnson (WI)

  • Sen. Tommy Tuberville (AL)

  • Sen. Dan Sullivan (AK)

  • Sen. Bill Hagerty (TN)

  • Sen. Cynthia Lummis (WY)

  • Rep. Mike Kelly (PA)

The FBI demanded and received call metadata, including:

  • Dates and times of calls

  • Call durations

  • Phone numbers contacted

  • Precise location data of each call

“This is illegal,” Blackburn declared during an interview with Morning Wire. “It is a violation of our civil rights. It’s a violation of our privacy rights. No one can find a time when the FBI has done this to sitting members of the U.S. Senate.”

This stunning breach of trust marks yet another troubling chapter in what many now view as a weaponized federal government under Joe Biden. The man who first launched the Arctic Frost probe, Timothy Thibault, was a known anti-Trump partisan who resigned from the FBI after allegedly suppressing evidence about Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings. That same tainted legacy continued when the case was transferred to Jack Smith, whose political bias has come under increasing scrutiny.

Let’s be clear: this wasn’t a counterterrorism operation or national security emergency. This was the Biden administration using the FBI to track, monitor, and gather intel on political rivals all for questioning the outcome of an election.

And while the left screams about “democracy,” they have no problem with federal agencies behaving like the Stasi behind closed doors.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who helped reveal the findings, confirmed the data collection occurred under the guise of a “2020 election investigation.” But even he admitted this level of surveillance targeting fellow lawmakers is “unprecedented.”

Americans should be outraged not just at Smith or the FBI, but at the entire Biden regime that allowed this corruption to flourish unchecked. The idea that private phone records and location data of elected officials can be scooped up with zero accountability should terrify every voter, no matter their political affiliation.

The message is clear: If you challenge the left’s narrative, you become a target.

The time for polite letters and sternly worded complaints is over. Real accountability is long overdue, and Republicans must move swiftly to dismantle the deep-state machinery operating under the Biden administration.
