Biden Stumbles When Asked About Netanyahu During Press Conference

The President's bizarre comment leaves many questioning his grasp on global affairs.

President Joe Biden faced another awkward moment on Thursday during a press conference on hurricane recovery efforts in Florida. After two major storms Helene and Milton devastated the southeastern United States, Biden fielded questions from reporters, only to stumble when asked about tensions between Israel and Lebanon.

When AFP White House correspondent Danny Kemp inquired whether Biden had spoken to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Israel’s response to escalating hostilities, the President's response left many scratching their heads.

“He’s coming over to help with the storm,” Biden replied, seemingly confusing the Israeli Prime Minister with a relief worker.

This bizarre comment quickly drew ridicule across social media. Michael Knowles, host, sarcastically remarked, “Well that’s nice of him,” while political commentator Max Abrahms added, “Here, Biden thought Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is a hurricane relief worker.” For a president who has been critical of Donald Trump’s handling of international relations, this latest gaffe only fueled concerns about Biden’s competence on the world stage.

  • This isn't Biden's first slip-up when it comes to foreign policy. His history of verbal blunders has often led to confusion, with many Americans questioning his ability to lead in critical global affairs.

  • The confusion comes as tensions rise in the Middle East, a region that requires deft handling from U.S. leadership something that appeared lacking in Biden's disjointed response.

During the same press conference, Biden pivoted to address hurricane recovery efforts, doubling down on his administration’s commitment to holding accountable those who engage in price gouging in the aftermath of disasters.

“Anyone who seeks to take advantage of our fellow Americans’ desperation whether you’re a company engaging in price gouging or a citizen trying to scam your neighbors we will go after you and we will hold you accountable,” Biden promised.

But what Biden failed to mention was that price gouging is already illegal in Florida, and has been for some time. His administration’s “promise” to crack down on something that is already prohibited by state law seemed more like posturing than genuine leadership.

The President also used the moment to deflect criticism, accusing former President Donald Trump of spreading misinformation about the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its funding. Biden’s attempts to shift blame, however, fell flat for many, as questions surrounding his administration’s own response to ongoing crises continue to mount.

Once again, Biden’s missteps raise serious concerns about his ability to lead, both domestically and internationally. With tensions escalating worldwide and America still reeling from natural disasters, the American people deserve a leader who can respond with clarity and strength.
