Biden Completes Radiation Treatment as Questions Over Health Intensify

Joe Biden may have rung the symbolic bell marking the end of a round of radiation therapy, but it’s far from the all-clear many Americans are looking for especially with the 2024 election around the corner.

On Monday, Biden completed several weeks of radiation treatment for an aggressive and metastatic form of prostate cancer, according to his family and staff. He had been receiving care at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, and the news was confirmed by both his daughter Ashley Biden and spokeswoman Kelly Scully.

“Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment,” Ashley posted on social media, alongside photos of her father ringing the bell a common practice at cancer treatment centers symbolizing the end of a treatment cycle.

But symbolism doesn’t equal recovery, and Biden’s condition is no small issue. Back in May, the former president revealed that his prostate cancer had already spread to his bones a major red flag in any medical context. And yet, once again, the American people are being left in the dark about what that actually means for his health, stamina, and ability to lead.

This latest episode is only the most recent in a string of troubling health-related incidents that have surrounded Biden since taking office:

• In September, Biden underwent Mohs surgery to remove cancerous skin cells

• In February 2023, a biopsy showed cancerous lesions on his chest, which the White House claimed were “successfully removed”

• At 81 years old, Biden would be the oldest sitting president in U.S. history if re-elected, and his mental sharpness and physical health have been routinely questioned

Despite all of this, the administration continues to downplay the severity of his condition, offering minimal updates and even fewer details. It’s a disturbing pattern especially from the same party that spent years attacking President Trump’s health with wild speculation.

What we’re seeing is a White House that refuses to level with the American public, opting instead for carefully staged photo ops and emotional Instagram posts while avoiding real transparency. And let’s be honest: if a Republican president had admitted to metastatic cancer, the media would be in full-scale panic mode, demanding daily briefings and invoking the 25th Amendment.

Instead, Biden is shielded from scrutiny, propped up by handlers, and now portrayed as a symbol of bravery while voters are left wondering who’s really running the country.

There’s no shame in facing cancer. But there is shame in a presidency that hides behind platitudes and conceals the truth from the American people. At this point, it’s not just about Biden’s health it’s about the integrity and transparency of the office he still occupies.
