Biden Laments Trump Erasing His Presidency as NATO Strengthens Under New Leadership
Former president says his work is “changing so rapidly” while Trump racks up foreign policy wins.

In a rare public speech this week, former President Joe Biden admitted what many already knew: President Donald Trump is systematically dismantling the failed legacy of the Biden administration and it’s happening fast.
Speaking at a human resources conference in San Diego, Biden appeared disheartened, confessing, “Many of the things I worked so damn hard, that I thought I changed in the country, are changing so rapidly.” It was his most extended set of public remarks since announcing a cancer diagnosis in May, and it read like a farewell address to a legacy already being wiped from the record.
Biden even claimed European leaders are privately asking him to reengage in politics to counter Trump, although he insisted he is not “involved.” He added, “I’m giving advice,” a remark that only underscores the awkward irrelevance of his current role in a world swiftly moving on from his presidency.
The White House had no patience for the comments. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt torched Biden’s claims, saying, “Absolutely no one is calling Joe Biden for advice because his disastrous foreign policy left America weaker than ever before.”
And she’s right. Trump is leading where Biden faltered:
NATO nations have now committed to spending 5% of GDP on defense, a massive increase championed by Trump restoring strength to the alliance Biden let flounder.
Iran’s nuclear ambitions have been neutralized, thanks to Trump’s aggressive strategy to reimpose crippling sanctions and project U.S. strength abroad.
America’s global credibility is back, with foreign leaders no longer dismissing us as a rudderless, weak superpower.
Compare that to Biden’s record of appeasement, botched exits, and inflation-inducing economic mismanagement. Under his watch, NATO was undermined, allies were unsure of U.S. commitments, and adversaries like Russia and China became emboldened.
In contrast, Trump’s foreign policy has proven what peace through strength really looks like. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that the new 5% defense spending target including investments in critical infrastructure was a direct response to mounting threats and international instability. “There is absolute conviction... there is no alternative,” Rutte said.
As Trump reasserts American leadership and economic sanity, Biden seems to understand that his carefully crafted legacy whether on NATO, energy, the economy, or border security is rapidly unraveling. And it’s unraveling for one simple reason: the American people have chosen strength and common sense over weakness and bureaucracy.
