President Biden's COVID Symptoms Improve After Ten Doses of Paxlovid, WH Physician Confirms
Health update sparks questions amid Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race.
President Joe Biden is reportedly nearing a full recovery from COVID-19, according to a statement from White House physician Kevin O’Connor. On Monday afternoon, O’Connor confirmed that Biden’s symptoms are “almost resolved completely” after his tenth dose of Paxlovid. The president has been isolating at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, away from public view for five consecutive days.
“President Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. His symptoms have almost resolved completely. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear,” O’Connor detailed in the health update.
Biden’s health status has been closely monitored, with O’Connor assuring that the president continues to fulfill all his presidential duties despite his isolation.
The update coincides with Biden's unexpected withdrawal from the presidential race, citing the best interest of his party and the country.
However, doubts persist regarding O’Connor's reliability. Critics point to a history of White House physicians obscuring presidential health issues and note O’Connor's controversial business dealings with the Biden family, which, according to ethics experts, further compromise his credibility.
Biden’s decision to withdraw from the presidential race has intensified scrutiny over his health and capability to lead. He announced his withdrawal in a letter, stating, “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.” Biden also endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to continue the campaign and be recognized as the Democratic nominee at the Democratic National Convention.
Biden was last seen publicly disembarking at the U.S. air base in Dover, Delaware, on his way to his vacation home to begin isolation. His prolonged absence from the public eye has fueled speculation about his health and the broader implications for the Democratic Party as the 2024 election approaches.
