Biden Administration Suppressed Intelligence Linking COVID-19 to Chinese Lab
New report reveals efforts to downplay lab leak theory despite strong FBI and military intelligence.
A bombshell investigation has revealed that the Biden administration suppressed information from U.S. intelligence agencies suggesting that the COVID-19 pandemic originated from a lab leak in Wuhan, China. The report sheds light on a disturbing pattern of downplaying evidence and sidelining agencies like the FBI, which had assessed the lab leak theory with "moderate confidence."
The FBI and the Department of Energy have both assessed that the pandemic likely originated from a Chinese lab. According to The Wall Street Journal, FBI microbiologist Jason Bannan and other experts presented evidence pointing to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), citing genomic analyses and the virus’s proximity to the lab as compelling indicators.
Key findings include:
Geographic Improbabilities: The coronavirus behind COVID-19 is native to bats found nearly 1,000 miles away from Wuhan. Experts argued that if the virus had a zoonotic origin, cases should have appeared between Yunnan and Wuhan, yet the first cases were reported in Wuhan near the WIV.
Genetic Alterations: Scientists at the National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI) concluded the virus’s spike protein was manipulated using techniques described in a 2008 Chinese scientific paper. This points to gain-of-function research aimed at enhancing the virus’s ability to infect humans.
Despite these findings, key intelligence was omitted or downplayed in reports submitted to President Joe Biden during his administration’s 90-day review of COVID-19’s origins in 2021.
The FBI was notably excluded from an August 2021 briefing to the president, despite being the only agency with moderate confidence in the lab leak theory. Adrienne Keen, a State Department official with ties to the World Health Organization (WHO), reportedly worked to discredit lab leak evidence and pushed the zoonotic origin theory, even as China restricted access to critical data.
Moreover, scientists at the NCMI were instructed by superiors to stop sharing their findings with the FBI, signaling a coordinated effort to suppress the lab leak theory. Ninety percent of their submissions to the government’s report were reportedly cut.
The suppression of key intelligence has raised serious concerns about the influence of political and international agendas on U.S. national security. Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe and other officials with access to classified intelligence continue to assert that a lab leak is the most likely origin of the pandemic.
“This was a Wuhan virus,” Ratcliffe stated unequivocally, adding that officials with the most access to intelligence agree on this conclusion.
The Department of Energy’s alignment with the FBI in concluding a lab leak origin has reignited calls for transparency. The Defense Intelligence Agency’s Inspector General is investigating allegations of censorship within its ranks. Meanwhile, the Biden administration faces mounting criticism for its failure to prioritize evidence over political narratives.
As new information emerges, the American public deserves answers about the origins of the pandemic and the motivations behind the suppression of critical intelligence.
