Shapiro Praises Javier Milei’s Success at CPAC Argentina

CPAC Argentina speech highlights Milei's reforms as a blueprint for liberty.

At CPAC Argentina, Ben Shapiro delivered a powerful endorsement of Argentine President Javier Milei’s transformative leadership. Shapiro praised Milei’s bold economic reforms as a template for global success, urging the world to take note of Argentina’s resurgence under a liberty-focused agenda.

“Argentina, the eyes of the world are on you. If you succeed, the rest of the world is going to follow you,” Shapiro declared. “Liberty must succeed.”

Shapiro lauded Milei for taking decisive action against decades of socialist policies that crippled Argentina’s economy. Since assuming office, Milei has:

  • Reduced government ministries: Cut the number of ministries from 18 to eight.

  • Downsized public spending: Slashed the budget by 32%, resulting in surpluses.

  • Controlled inflation: Stabilized the economy, with a rising stock market as a testament to investor confidence.

Shapiro called these measures “perhaps the most important political development on planet Earth at this very moment.”

In his speech, Shapiro didn’t hold back in condemning socialism, which he blamed for Argentina’s economic downfall and broader global decline.

“Socialism is just evil,” Shapiro stated. “It’s the philosophy of the thief of the man who would prefer to burn everything down rather than build anything up.”

He argued that socialism promotes envy, laziness, and destruction while discouraging innovation and hard work.

“Free markets are moral and just. They reward merit, hard work, and solid decision-making,” Shapiro said, asserting that President Milei’s Austrian-school approach to economics stands as a corrective to the failures of socialism.

Shapiro recounted Argentina’s trajectory from one of the richest nations in the early 20th century to its impoverished state before Milei’s rise. Decades of corruption, weak property rights, and centralized control eroded the country’s prosperity, forcing its citizens to work harder for fewer rewards.

“If you look at the record of Argentina from 1980 to 2023, it is one of the rare countries in the West where it actually got harder to live,” Shapiro observed.

Shapiro argued that Milei’s presidency is a beacon for liberty not just in Argentina but across the West. By dismantling the bloated government apparatus and restoring economic freedom, Milei is offering a blueprint for reversing decades of stagnation and decline.

“Javier Milei, Argentina, you are leading the West back onto the right path,” Shapiro proclaimed.

Milei’s close ties to the United States and his advocacy for shared values of freedom have inspired optimism among conservatives worldwide. Speaking on Shapiro’s podcast earlier this year, Milei emphasized the importance of embracing liberty as a cornerstone for national revival.

Shapiro concluded his remarks with a rallying cry for Argentina and the world: “Enough to socialist evil, enough to the lies. It’s time to take a chainsaw to all of it.”
