AOC Slammed for Hypocrisy After Terror Attack Outside Jewish Museum

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s attempt to publicly condemn last week’s antisemitic terror attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., backfired spectacularly and for good reason.

In the aftermath of a horrifying shooting that left two Israeli embassy staff members dead, AOC took to social media to denounce antisemitism and offer prayers. But Americans, especially Jewish communities, aren’t buying it not when her own record includes years of inflammatory, anti-Israel rhetoric that many argue has helped inspire this exact kind of violence.

“Absolutely nothing justifies the murder of innocents,” she posted. “Antisemitism is a threat to all we hold dear.” A message that might have landed better if she hadn’t repeatedly accused Israel of “genocide” and justified Palestinian violence as a response to being “marginalized.”

Critics were quick to call out the glaring hypocrisy:

• One user dubbed her “Match-lighter Condemns Blaze,” a brutal summary of her performative outrage.

• Arsen Ostrovsky noted the victims weren’t just “two people,” but Jewish Israeli embassy staff a fact AOC conveniently left out.

• Stephen Miller reminded everyone that the shooter, Elias Rodriguez, shouted “Free Palestine” after murdering the victims echoing the very slogans Ocasio-Cortez has sympathized with.

This isn’t the first time AOC has danced around direct condemnation of anti-Israel violence. In 2019, she downplayed Palestinian terrorism by suggesting Israel’s “occupation” was to blame, stating, “once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot.” More recently, she accused Israel of orchestrating a famine in Gaza, calling it an “unfolding genocide.”

Let’s look at the facts:

• Since October 2023, antisemitic incidents in the U.S. have skyrocketed, with violent hate crimes against Jews increasing by more than 360%.

• According to the FBI, the D.C. shooter declared, “I did it for Gaza” and “Free Palestine” as he was arrested.

• Israel continues to allow hundreds of humanitarian aid trucks into Gaza daily, only to see much of it looted by armed Hamas operatives.

In reality, AOC’s carefully crafted soundbites only mask the danger of her ideology. By continuously painting Israel as the villain and providing rhetorical cover for Hamas sympathizers, she contributes to an atmosphere where acts of terror are rationalized or even encouraged.

As Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, put it bluntly: “You need to apologize for your complicity.”

It’s time Democrats stop pretending that words don’t have consequences. Ocasio-Cortez and others in her camp can’t light the match and then act shocked when the fire spreads. Their anti-Israel dogma has real-world consequences and this time, it cost two innocent lives.
