Netanyahu Claims Anti-Hamas Protests Show Israel’s Policies Are Succeeding
Netanyahu says unrest in the streets proves Israel’s strategy is breaking Hamas from within.

Palestinians across Gaza have taken to the streets, openly protesting Hamas's iron-fisted rule. Waving white flags and chanting for peace, these bold demonstrators risked their lives to denounce the terror group that's held Gaza hostage for nearly two decades.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded with clarity this is proof that Israel's policy of applying unrelenting military and political pressure on Hamas is working.
“In recent days, we have seen something we have never seen before public protests against Hamas rule in Gaza,” Netanyahu told the Knesset. “This shows that our policy is working.”
The protests, which broke out across Beit Lahiya, Khan Younis, and the Nuseirat refugee camp, signal three key developments:
Gaza residents are finally speaking out, with chants like “Hamas get out!” and “Hamas is a terrorist,” showing a growing internal revolt against the group's reign of terror.
Israel’s military campaign is not just targeting terrorists, but dismantling Hamas's control over the population. More than a dozen Hamas leaders were eliminated just this past week.
Calls for peace and freedom are growing louder, with Gazans voicing support for relocation and the freedom to live in dignity aligning with President Donald Trump’s proposal to resettle displaced Palestinians in more viable locations.
Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz praised the courage of the protesters, encouraging others to rise up and demand Hamas’s removal. He also warned that further military action would soon expand, pushing into central and southern Gaza to secure Israeli territory and apply additional pressure.
“Hamas is risking your life and will make you lose your homes,” Katz said. “More territory will be annexed to Israel if they continue to hold our hostages.”
As Hamas loyalists reportedly began attacking protesters in response, their media outlets attempted to downplay or distort the unrest typical behavior from an organization whose survival depends on suppression and lies.
It’s no surprise that these protests come as Israeli forces create buffer zones and tighten their grip on strategic areas. With over 30,000 Hamas terrorists reportedly neutralized since October, the tide is clearly turning.
And while the Biden administration continues its weak-kneed approach to the Middle East, President Trump’s vision prioritizing peace through strength is more relevant than ever. The people of Gaza are waking up, and they’re not chanting for ceasefires. They’re demanding Hamas’s end.
Now, more than ever, Israel must stay the course, and the U.S. must stand firmly behind our strongest ally in the region.
