Musk’s Twitter Faces Coordinated Pressure From Ad Cartel and Foreign Allies

House investigation uncovers global conspiracy to crush free speech and bankrupt conservative platforms.

A bombshell congressional report has confirmed what many suspected all along: a powerful advertising cartel conspired with foreign governments to censor Elon Musk’s Twitter and destroy conservative media. The now-defunct Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), a coalition of global advertisers, worked hand-in-glove with regulators in Europe and Australia to force compliance with their censorship demands.

At the center of this scheme was Rob Rakowitz, GARM’s director, who blatantly admitted in emails that the goal was to suppress voices like President Donald Trump’s. He referred to Trump as a “contagion” and openly sought to sideline him and other dissenting voices online. This wasn’t about safety. This was about silencing political opposition.

According to the House Judiciary Committee’s report:

  • GARM coordinated a boycott of Twitter immediately after Musk’s acquisition, calling it a “crisis” and instructing members to cease advertising due to so-called “brand safety” concerns.

  • The cartel used confidential metrics to paint Twitter as unsafe, then weaponized hose metrics to starve it of ad revenue driving it to 80% below projected income.

  • Foreign officials in the EU and Australia actively collaborated with GARM to pressure Twitter into censoring content under globalist “safety” standards.

  • GARM targeted conservative outlets like The Daily Wire, flagging them baselessly as “high risk” and spreading disinformation, all while pushing major brands to blacklist them.

  • One of the most damning revelations was that GARM’s leadership knew Americans overwhelmingly value free speech 66% according to Gallup polling but chose censorship anyway.

Two major firms, Omnicom and IPG, have already agreed to cooperate with the Trump administration’s Federal Trade Commission investigation into this blatant antitrust violation. The FTC is probing whether GARM violated competition laws by colluding to direct ad dollars away from platforms like Twitter and publishers that didn’t conform to their leftist narrative.

Emails obtained by Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) committee make it clear that this cartel operated with political bias and globalist intent. GARM wasn’t protecting brands it was protecting a broken status quo.

Rakowitz even scoffed at the U.S. Constitution, dismissing it as the product of “white men exclusively.” That tells you everything you need to know about the ideological foundation of this so-called “brand safety” initiative.

Behind the curtain, corporate elites and foreign bureaucrats were deciding who could speak and who would be silenced bankrupting dissenters and rigging the digital marketplace against conservatives.

This isn’t just censorship. It’s collusion. And the damage done to American free speech, independent journalism, and open debate is immeasurable.
