Anti-ICE Protesters Block 101 Freeway as 500 Marines Await Deployment

Total anarchy hit Los Angeles Sunday night as anti-ICE protesters stormed the 101 Freeway, trapping innocent drivers and turning a major American city into a war zone. While the mob hurled objects at officers and shut down key infrastructure, the Trump administration responded decisively putting 500 U.S. Marines on standby and mobilizing troops to regain control of the streets.

According to U.S. Northern Command, the Marines from 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines at Twentynine Palms are in “prepared to deploy” status, ready to assist with federal protection operations across greater LA. Meanwhile, approximately 2,000 California Army National Guard soldiers have already been federalized under Title 10 authority, overriding Governor Gavin Newsom’s command and placing boots on the ground in Los Angeles, Paramount, and Compton.

Video footage shared by journalist Nick Sortor shows violent protesters waving foreign flags and blocking freeway traffic near Union Station, forcing hundreds of drivers to sit helplessly as the situation spiraled into chaos. Law enforcement attempted to intervene only to be pelted with projectiles and forced to retreat.

• 300 troops from the National Guard’s 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team have been deployed throughout Los Angeles.

• Task Force 51, led by a two-star general, is overseeing all Title 10 forces operating under U.S. Army North’s command.

• Blackhawk helicopters were seen circling overhead as the Department of Defense monitored unfolding events.

Trump officials made it clear: the federal government isn’t backing down.

“We WILL NOT bend the knee,” one senior administration official said.

But as expected, the Left is trying to rewrite the narrative. Democrat Mayor Karen Bass while video showed her city burning in real time blamed President Trump for “creating chaos” and claimed she “had things under control.” The footage of flaming debris and assaulted officers told a different story.

The contrast couldn’t be more clear:

• The Trump administration is taking action, defending law enforcement, and protecting federal property.

• The Democrats are pointing fingers, denying responsibility, and siding with mobs that shut down highways and attack officers.

This isn’t peaceful protest. It’s targeted disruption a coordinated effort to sabotage immigration enforcement and undermine federal authority. And now, the consequences are visible to every American watching their cities be overrun by radicals emboldened by soft leadership and political games.

While Kamala Harris praises these riots as “overwhelmingly peaceful” and Newsom files lawsuits against the federal government for stepping in, Trump is doing what he’s always done: fighting for law and order when no one else will.

The 101 Freeway is just the latest battleground in a national war between sovereignty and surrender. And with Marines on alert, one thing is certain this administration won’t let the mob win.
