Despite the swirling rumors of a potential 2024 presidential run and the mounting number of legal battles former President Donald Trump faces, it seems as if he’s not losing sleep over it.
Despite facing 37 criminal charges and a crowded GOP lineup for the 2024 primaries, Trump has been making the most of his free time, much like every other American. His pastimes of choice include friendly jabs on social media and frequent attendance at sporting events.
Recently, on Truth Social, the former President endorsed country music star Jason Aldean, although not without a playful jab first. He posted, “Jason is a GREAT guy, however, he is much better with a guitar than he is with a golf club.” A well-known golf enthusiast himself, Trump couldn’t resist poking fun at Aldean’s golfing skills.
Yet, the ribbing didn’t stop Trump from encouraging people to check out Aldean’s “Highway Desperado Tour.” Trump is never one to miss an opportunity to promote a friend’s work.
Meanwhile, Trump traded his social media presence for some real-life social interaction when he attended UFC 290 on Saturday, greeted by a crowd like a beloved champion. True to form, Trump enjoyed the UFC spectacle alongside a few familiar faces, including celebrity chef Guy Fieri and several UFC fighters.
Interestingly, Trump’s laid-back demeanor contrasts sharply with the current occupant of the Oval Office. President Joe Biden, who was recently criticized for an uneventful beach trip during the same weekend Trump was enjoying UFC 290.
While Trump was engaged in playful banter with friends on Truth Social, mainstream media outlets were criticizing Biden’s team for their seeming lack of foresight.
This contrast sets the stage for what could be a clash of two very distinct narratives in the 2024 showdown. As we inch closer to the election, the lifestyle and attitude of the 45th president could play a vital role in shaping public sentiment.
