Despite the silence from federal agencies or what some refer to as the ‘Deep State’, Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, a prominent Republican figure and the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has vowed to leave no stone unturned in his probe of the Biden family’s financial matters.
“Following the money” is our primary objective, Comer expressed during a recent appearance on “Life, Liberty & Levin.” He explained that the committee anticipates further bank records and is prepared to bring in key players involved in alleged ‘Biden family influence-peddling schemes’ for depositions.
“We’re on the right track,” Comer said, despite resistance from the FBI, the DOJ, congressional Democrats, and mainstream media. Comer’s investigation has unearthed a 2020 FD-1023 form that suggests an FBI informant had knowledge of a supposed bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden during his tenure as Vice President and his son, Hunter Biden.
The central contention is that the Department of Justice did not adequately investigate the allegations detailed in the form. Comer questioned why the FBI did not launch an investigation if their credible informant pointed to possible bribery involving the then-vice president in exchange for foreign policy and foreign aid.
The investigation spearheaded by Comer reportedly unearthed wire transfers that came from Romania and China to several Biden family members through shell companies. Despite this, Comer noted, federal agencies have shown reluctance to probe the evidence.
The IRS, for instance, seems only to have an interest in potential tax evasion-related claims against Hunter Biden. The DOJ, in Comer’s estimation, has remained passive. He sees a pattern in which federal government bureaucracies seem to be turning a blind eye to potential wrongdoing.
Other Republican voices, such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona, also amplified calls for Biden’s impeachment, questioning the apparent inaction within the Republican conference.
Greene claimed, “We have bank records, tons of them, that show the Biden family, Hunter, all kinds of family members, even grandchildren being paid millions and millions of dollars from all these foreign countries…Joe Biden absolutely should be impeached.”
Biggs added that Biden’s alleged corrupt dealings could be compromising the nation’s safety, security, and prosperity.
These comments and the ongoing investigation led by Comer underscore the conservative belief in transparency and accountability for all public officials, regardless of their position. If these allegations prove true, they represent a serious breach of trust and a violation of the principles of good governance. No matter the political divide, all must agree that thorough investigation and proper recourse are the cornerstones of a functioning democracy.
