The View’s Whoopi Goldberg Needs to Stay Out of Politics and Stick to Entertainment

Published:

For more than a decade, Whoopi Goldberg has regularly co-hosted “The View” and offered her thoughts on contentious social and political matters. Her most recent remark regarding the accusations made against Donald Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, however, emphasizes the necessity for her to avoid politics and focus solely on her entertainment career.

Despite the fact that Sunny Hostin’s legal disclaimer reminded viewers that Trump has pled not guilty and denied any criminal activity, Goldberg and Sunny Hostin assessed the strength of Bragg’s case against Trump. While Goldberg first welcomed the accusations, she later acknowledged that there was insufficient proof of Trump’s romance with Stormy Daniels. Her reluctance to make a judgment shows that she is wary of becoming too involved in the political debate.

On “The View,” this lack of conviction and assurance frequently occurs. Although the show aims to present a variety of viewpoints, Goldberg’s failure to express a strong position or deliver insightful analysis points to a bigger problem. She obviously doesn’t know anything about politics or the law, so her commentary is at best suspect.

Goldberg would do better to stick to entertainment and let those who are more qualified engage in political discussions. She has been an actress for many years and has won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her significant productions as a producer and director include “The Lion King” and “Sister Act.” Although she has great talents in the entertainment business, her political criticism lacks the same expertise and nuance.

Furthermore, it can be risky when the lines between politics and entertainment are blurred. Celebrities frequently utilize their platforms to advocate for their political beliefs, however, this practice sometimes backfires. Often based on personal prejudices rather than facts or critical analysis, the political beliefs expressed by entertainers can be superficial and deceptive. They might also divide people and divert attention from the country’s actual problems.

Goldberg has a rare opportunity to use her platform to inform and motivate people, but she ought to leave politics to those who are qualified and experienced in it. She has achieved tremendous success in the entertainment industry, and in order to advance her career, she should keep investing in more credible projects like movies or scripts. Celebrities frequently dabble in politics, but their dubious viewpoints should always be regarded with a grain of salt.

Finally, Goldberg needs to stay away from politics and focus on the entertainment sector. Political discourse is more complicated and demands a certain amount of skill, whereas entertainment may be a potent vehicle for social critique. Celebrities should exercise caution while participating in politics as their views may be deceptive or polarizing. Goldberg should concentrate on her strengths and leave politics to the experts.
