Remembering Ivana Trump on Her 74th Birthday

Published:

Ivana Trump, the adored matriarch of one of America’s most recognizable families, would have turned 74 today. The Trump family, which includes Ivana, her three kids Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka, as well as her ex-husband Donald J. Trump, is a striking illustration of what it means to be successful in the United States. All four of them publicly remembered this extraordinary woman on social media after her passing in July 2020.

Ivana was born in 1949 and spent her childhood in Czechoslovakia with her parents, Marie Francona and Milo Zelnek, as well as her two elder sisters, Iveta and Milos Jr. She traveled to Canada at the age of 21 with a modeling contract, and while visiting New York City years later, she ran across real estate tycoon Donald J. Trump. At the Marble Collegiate Church, the pair exchanged vows in April 1977. (Manhattan). They were close friends for many years following their 1992 divorce and up until her passing at age 71 on July 8th, 2020.

Ivana was “an outstanding woman who led an inspirational life with pride for her three children,” according to Donald J. Trump, who also said that he was “fortunate to have called [her] my wife for nearly 15 years.” Upon her passing, the family released a statement in which they described her as a “genuine inspiration” who not only taught them about grit and resilience but also showed “unconditional love” and had an unbreakable spirit.

The four Trump children posted heartfelt condolences to their mother on social media on Monday, honoring both her and their memories of her. They also looked back gratefully on all that she had accomplished throughout her lifetime. Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka all sent meaningful messages with pictures that showed them and their mother spending time together both secretly at home and publicly at events. These instances have been frozen in time, but they will live on in their memories long after their mother has passed away.

The legacy Ivana left behind will endure not only those closest to her — her friends, family, and coworkers — but also through future generations as we consider what will become of this generation’s American Dreamers — this great nation’s ambition — which without fails is forever shaped by those who came before us like Ivana Trump herself once did many moons ago when she first arrived from across the seas into a place we now call home — The United St.
