Heartbreakingly, the White House has paid little attention to the situation in East Palestine, Ohio. On February 3, a freight train that was traveling through the area derailed, killing local wildlife and contaminating the village’s water supply. President Joseph Biden has neglected and disregarded the people of East Palestine ever since. When Biden decided to spend Presidents Day abroad rather than visiting those affected by the disaster, local mayor Trent Conaway had a lot to say about it.
The establishment media also doesn’t seem to be doing much to cover this issue, despite the fact that it has lately been brought to light by local reporters and social media users. This shows that it’s not just the president who is failing to care for these folks. Furthermore, it took FEMA 15 days to send out a crew to survey the damage, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg 10 full days to acknowledge any pain on the part of individuals impacted. It appears that the government of Joe Biden is once again unable or unwilling to direct resources to where they are most needed.
The fact that leaders like Franklin Roosevelt were able to manage several duties at once during World War II just serves to make this situation more tragic. Nevertheless, in this case, where a tragedy has occurred in Ohio, Joe Biden doesn’t appear to be either willing or able to act. Republicans should bring up this flagrant disregard for American citizens as soon as possible so that people may hold our current leadership responsible for their mistakes.
While it might already be too late for East Palestine inhabitants, we must keep telling their tale so that such tragedies in other areas might be lessened more swiftly – after all, no one deserves what these citizens have gone through as a result of government carelessness! Also, we must keep exerting pressure on our elected leaders to prevent tragedies like this one from going too long without being noticed and addressed.
